CHILD LABOUR
CHILD LABOUR
Child labour
is a serious problem in India. We could not do much in this direction
even after a time laps of 68 years of India independence. India has progress a
lot in many fields. Even, it has industrialization, foreign trade, commerce
economic, art, film production research and development and so on. India is a
strong contender in the village by virtue of its ability. It is already
accelerating global competition day by day shaking the foundation of world
economic. Its goal is of becoming world power in 21st century. The growth speed of economic tremendous change which I have taken
over India. In the course of the last 68years since its independence are the
potent factor for achieving the goal. But the irony is that the poor are still
suffering, backward class is still being deprived of its share out of India
advancement, the poor are becoming poor a day by day and such classics of
people and their children are staying isolated splendid India continuously. A
big number of people from and backward classes of rural India are doing labour
work in the absence of education and employment opportunities their poverty and
liability of feeding large number of family members is compelling them for
sending their children for labour work on petty wages.
In a country, where a big number of the people are
living below poverty line struggling for bread and expiring due to starvation,
it is not to cheek the poor people would starve to death if they do not work
and earn to work. They are illiterate and lacking skill for doing any artistic
work. They have no money for starting any petty business. In most of the cases
only an earning member looks after a large family with his small income. He can
provide just a bread for surviving. He waits fo children to grow 12 to 13 years
old he asks them to work it is really a tragedy with the children in India.
They are deprived of education and other training. They remain unskilled and
undeveloped both mentally and physically. They are the children who generally
become the conservative society. The parents of these children feel that only a
marriage is the responsibilities of theirs which burdens them and becomes a
cause of worry. It is the reason why they go for early marriage of their
children and get themselves freed of their responsibilities.
Child labour is an evil in the society. It has been
transmitted from one generation to another. There are numerous example where
the parents started working as labour
right from childhood in the fields, small scale industries, brick-pits, project
works, bidi-rolling factories, stone lifting transport companies, saree
industries, small scale match stick and firework factions, carpet making
industries too to work with these agencies to earn their live hood and basic
necessities of life. The parents feel great satisfaction when their children
start earning money. Thy have no sense about morality and responsibility
towards their children there is no impact of the channing and modern society on
them. Under these circumstances, this acute problem of child labour can not be
checked.
We are talking about 21st century,
globalization and economy force if India is really serious to achieve all these
things smoothly, then concrete measures are necessary to eradicate he poverty,
spread education and train the poor masses vocationally for enabling them to
work with technical skill. There is a requirement to introduce tough country to
take hard and serious look into the issue to curb the problem of child labour.
The children are exploited due to many factors. They are cheap and paid a
meager and objection, children are innocent and do not fight for their rights.
They are gentle and easily submissive. But all kinds of exploitation against
the children are to be checked at all levels for the sake of their good
manufactured through child workers and penalize the employers for violation of
the oders. Special attention is necessary towards the plight of bonded child
labourers who are worst than the free child labourers.
